Welcome to Tri-State Sustainable Homesteaders!
Our mission is to assist each other in becoming more sustainable through education of life skills and through bartering/cooperative efforts in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Maryland!
Tri-State Sustainable Homesteading Group Charter:
Our Vision: The vision of the Tri-State Sustainable Homesteading Group is to help develop a fundamental basis for teaching each other as a community how to become more independent in our ability to sustain ourselves. We believe that it is impossible to achieve total sustainability as individuals; however, as a collective, we can achieve our goal. The direction of this vision is a multi-faceted approach with both classroom and hands-on training to encourage and teach life skills.
Our Code of Ethics: As the Tri-State Sustainable Homesteading Group, we believe it is necessary to respect each other at all times, never segregating for any reason. Our goal is for our members to work collaboratively and cooperatively to develop strictly proactive and positive growth. Any issues contrary to these beliefs will be reviewed, and a ruling will be made by the Board of Directors.
Our Structure: The Tri-State Sustainable Homesteading Group is to be guided by the Board of Directors. The Board is only to set the direction of the group, not to dictate the direction. The Board members are appointed by the group through a yearly election process. This Board can be made up of any members in good standing with the group. The Board of Directors will consist of (5) Board members and (1) facilitator, and will be appointed by the group via popular vote. Each Board member will carry (1) vote, the only time that the facilitator will vote is in the event of a tie, or in the event of an absence of a Board member.
Our Ownership: This group belongs entirely to the members of the Tri-State Sustainable Homesteading Group. Any changes to this charter can only be done by popular vote from the entire membership of this group, and cannot be ammended by the Board of Directors itself.
